You're right about "might take off" ... I've been through "group dynamics" inside and out, cog-psych and "integral" and Buddhist tantra and, bottom line, it's voodoo ... small groups fail in /this/ way, and big groups fail in /that/ way ... but it's still some peculiar sorta mojo that makes the diff.

And, FWIW, I've seen "active" groups that heh kinda remind me of the sorta thrash you see on MySpace ... noise and heat, but not a lotta light. (It's aweful hard to be critically conscious w/o seeming cynical. For the record: I'm neither cynical nor pessimistic. Tired ... maybe bummed out ... but not cynical.)
